My functional pottery is food safe and dishwasher safe. I pay attention to the ergonomic properties of handles, so mugs feel comfortable in your hand. Kitchen ware should be easily washable and dryable. A teapot is a good example of this, as it is filled with boiling water – requiring a strong handle, a body that can keep heat, a lid that doesn’t fall off at an angle, a spout that doesn’t dribble, and a top opening that can accommodate a cleaning hand. And that is a beautiful addition to your table.
